Morning Meditation from C. H. Spurgeon
“He that watereth shall be watered also himself.”—Proverbs 11:25.
We are here taught the great lesson, that to get, we must give; that to accumulate, we must scatter; that to make ourselves happy, we must make others happy; and that in order to become spiritually vigorous, we must seek the spiritual good of others. In watering others, we are ourselves watered. How? Our efforts to be useful, bring out our powers for usefulness. We have latent talents and dormant faculties, which are brought to light by exercise. Our strength for labour is hidden even from ourselves, until we venture forth to fight the Lord’s battles, or to climb the mountains of difficulty. We do not know what tender sympathies we possess until we try to dry the widow’s tears, and soothe the orphan’s grief. We often find in attempting to teach others, that we gain instruction for ourselves. Oh, what gracious lessons some of us have learned at sick beds! We went to teach the Scriptures, we came away blushing that we knew so little of them. In our converse with poor saints, we are taught the way of God more perfectly for ourselves and get a deeper insight into divine truth. So that watering others makes us humble. We discover how much grace there is where we had not looked for it; and how much the poor saint may outstrip us in knowledge. Our own comfort is also increased by our working for others. We endeavour to cheer them, and the consolation gladdens our own heart. Like the two men in the snow; one chafed the other’s limbs to keep him from dying, and in so doing kept his own blood in circulation, and saved his own life. The poor widow of Sarepta gave from her scanty store a supply for the prophet’s wants, and from that day she never again knew what want was. Give then, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and running over.
Trust in the Lord
Psalm 62: 5-8 (NLT)
“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.
My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
O my people, trust in him at all times.

Prayer

Prayer

Sufficient Grace
The will of God will never take us where the grace of God cannot sustain us. Billy Graham
Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve baskets full of broken pieces that were left over. Matthew 14: 19-20
God supplies. Disciples receive and distribute, and then the miracle happens. The provision we received fills and satisfies so much that there is enough left over to share with others. What a wonderful principle. God’s grace is always sufficient.
A Fresh Word Through the Ages

The statues of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. Psalm 19:7-8
“No other Book has had a greater impact and influence on the course of human history than God’s word.” It is a lamp unto our feet. It is power, and authority. This love sonnet contains the eternal truths of God written to restore and transform mankind.
John Quincy Adams once said, “So great is my veneration for the Bible that the earlier my children begin to read it the more confident will be my hope that they will prove useful citizens of their country and respectable members of society. I have for many years made it a practice to read thought the Bible once every year.”
God told Joshua upon his commission to take the nation of Israel into the promised land to “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 NLT.
God commanded Joshua to meditate on His word daily. It is the same for us. Our mighty God wants us to dig deeply into His word daily so we can experience Him more fully. Sink into the word, cover your bodies, spirits and souls with the life-giving Word of God. Make it a priority stay in His word for it is life unto our very life.
Sanctifying the Month
Beloved
Begin this new season by reflecting upon our great and merciful God. Leave the stains of despair, regrets, sin, mistakes, worry and concern in His capable hands. Return to him fully and allow the Holy Spirit to create in you a clean heart for worship and service.
“May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it! ” 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 The Message

Empowered by the Same Spirit
“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. (1 Corinthians 12: 4-12 KJV)
We are many members, but there is but one Holy Spirit. God the Holy Spirit gave each of us a special gift to build up the body of Christ, and bring hope to the world. Do you know what your gift is? If not, ask God to reveal what your gift is. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in using your gift. Your special gift will strengthen the body, so we can continue kingdom building work.
